Privacy Policy

Who is responsible

Film Logbook is an independent iOS app made by Michael Steurer (Italy), the data controller for the purposes of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). You can reach out any time at feedback@mich312.com.

The data you enter stays yours

Everything you log — rolls, frames, cameras, lenses, film stocks, exposure settings, notes, tags, and any reference images — is stored only on your device and, if you use iCloud, in your own private iCloud account (Apple's CloudKit). The app has no servers of its own, so this content is never sent to the developer or to any third party. The developer has no way to access it.

• Location. Location tracking is optional. If you turn it on, the coordinates you capture are saved only inside your logbook (on your device and your iCloud) — they are never transmitted to the developer or anyone else.
• Photos. The app accesses your photo library only when you choose to attach a reference image, and those images live only inside your logbook.

What the developer does not collect

There is no sign-up and no account. The developer does not operate any backend and does not collect, store, or receive your logbook data, your location, your photos, or any personal identifiers.

Analytics & diagnostics

The app uses no third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs. The only diagnostic information the developer may receive is Apple's standard, aggregated App Analytics and crash reports — and only if you have opted in to sharing analytics with app developers in iOS Settings. This data is provided by Apple in aggregate form, is not tied to your identity, and is used only to understand crashes and general usage.

Purchases

The optional one-time Pro upgrade is sold and processed entirely by Apple through the App Store (StoreKit). The developer never sees or receives your payment details, card number, or billing information — Apple handles all of that under Apple's own privacy policy.

Apple's services

Because the app relies on iCloud and the App Store, Apple's handling of that data is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy. The developer does not control Apple's services and has no other third-party processors.

Keeping and deleting your data

Your data stays for as long as you keep it. You are always in control:

• Delete individual rolls or frames inside the app at any time.
• Delete the app to remove its data from your device.
• Manage or remove the iCloud copy in iOS Settings → [your name] → iCloud.

Because the developer holds none of your data, there is nothing on the developer's side to request, export, or erase.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, and port your personal data, and to object to its processing. Since all of your Film Logbook data is under your own control — on your device and in your own iCloud — you can exercise these rights directly on your device, without needing the developer. If you have any question, email feedback@mich312.com. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority (in Italy, the Garante per la protezione dei dati personali).

Children

Film Logbook is suitable for a general audience of all ages. Because the app collects no personal data on any server, it does not knowingly gather personal information from anyone, including children.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted here with a new effective date. Because the app's approach is simply "your data stays with you," material changes are unlikely.
